Apple Pie Sangria

Every October, we host my husband's family for a pumpkin carving party in the week or so leading up to Halloween. It's one of my favorite times of year and we started it the year we got married so it's been a fun tradition through the years.

It's also a fantastic time to try out some new fall recipe ideas! I usually make a big batch or two of chili and we'll have hot dogs, veggies, and my roll out sugar cookies or pumpkin sugar cookies. This year I thought it'd be fun to add a cocktail to the menu so I threw together this Apple Pie Sangria recipe. It was delicious and for sure will be on the menu again (possibly even for Thanksgiving!)

Apple Pie Sangria

  • 1 bottle white wine (I used Chardonnay)
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 3/4 cup apple flavored liquor (whiskey, vodka, or brandy will work)
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1 pear, diced
  • chilled fresh cranberries (to keep it cold)

Mix all ingredients except cranberries in a large pitcher. Refrigerate overnight and stir well before serving. Add a handful of chilled cranberries to a glass and top with the sangria to serve.
